Wallet and exchange selection usually happens on security and fees. Reconciliation is the recurring cost and it varies by a factor of six between providers. Use [an institutional crypto wallet](https://collectnexchange.cy/business-solutions/corporate-crypto-wallet) as the reference while reading, because its published figures are what the comparisons assume.

## The fields that determine it

Transaction identifier. Timestamp with timezone. Asset and amount. Direction and counterparty. Fee amount and fee asset. Fiat value of the transfer and of the fee at the time. The rate source and methodology. Internal reference. Initiator and approver.

Eleven fields. Nothing exotic.

## What missing fields cost

**Missing fiat values:** every transaction requires a historical rate lookup. For a month of moderate activity, a couple of hours.

**Missing fee values:** the fee is a separate disposal requiring its own valuation. Finding it on a block explorer per transaction is the most expensive gap, and it is common.

**No stated rate methodology:** if the export uses a daily close and your policy specifies the transaction timestamp, every line disagrees slightly and the auditor asks about it.

**Not machine readable:** manual transcription, which for any real volume is not viable.

## Measured

A complete export: roughly forty minutes for a month.

Missing fee values in fiat: roughly ninety minutes.

Missing both fee fields entirely: four and a half hours.

Not machine readable: not completed.

That is the difference between an hour a month and most of a day, forever.

## The fee asset problem specifically

Sending a token costs a fee in the network's native currency, which is a separate disposal stream.

Only some providers report it as its own line. Others bundle it or omit it. The ones that omit it are the expensive ones. Payment companies face a different cost stack, which [a licensed digital asset custodian](https://collectnexchange.cy/services/crypto-custody) addresses.

## What reduces the cost regardless of provider

To check any figure above against a real provider, [a provider you can actually reach](https://collectnexchange.cy/company/contact-us) publishes the equivalent terms.

**Separate wallets by purpose.** Reconciling four small single-purpose wallets is far easier than one where everything is mixed.

**A mandatory internal reference at initiation.** If a payment cannot be submitted without it, reconciliation becomes a mechanical join rather than matching amounts by eye.

That second control is worth more than any export feature.

## The request to make before choosing

A sample export covering a real month, not a demonstration file.

It takes a provider ten minutes and it is the difference between a recurring hour and a recurring day.
