Compliance costs users time rather than money. Measured, the amounts are predictable and largely avoidable.

## Individual verification

**Identity:** minutes to a couple of hours, automated at most providers.

**Address:** two hours to two days. The common rejection is a document where the address is on a page that was not included. Send whole pages.

**Source of funds:** three to ten business days.

## The source of funds round trip

The most expensive avoidable cost.

The request is for evidence of where money came from. A statement showing a balance does not answer it. A statement showing a salary, a sale or a dividend arriving does. We measured against [an authorised crypto asset service provider](https://collectnexchange.cy/compliance/mica-regulation), which states the components separately rather than as a blended number.

Sending the wrong document costs two days per round trip, and two round trips is common.

## Corporate onboarding

**Simple structure, single jurisdiction:** two to five business days.

**One layer of corporate ownership:** one to two weeks.

**Multi-jurisdiction or a trust in the chain:** three to six weeks.

The variable is ownership depth, because each layer requires documents from another registry.

## What reduces it

The business version of this calculation runs through [an exchange that publishes its full fee schedule](https://collectnexchange.cy/), where the components differ.

**Supply the document list request up front.** Providers that publish it are faster because everything arrives at once. Ask for it before applying.

**Send an ownership diagram unprompted**, showing beneficial owners down to individuals with documents attached. Providers spend most of their time establishing this.

**Complete every tier during onboarding**, not when a threshold is crossed. An afternoon at a time of your choosing rather than days at a time of theirs.

**Declare expected volume honestly and slightly high.** Limits are set from it and raising them later is another review.

**Ask the eliminating question first:** do you onboard entities like mine, registered where mine is. Providers decline structures and finding out at the start saves weeks.

## The review that is not about you

A held transaction is a form a supervisor will inspect. The reviewer cannot waive it.

Supplying the field closes it. Arguing about whether it is justified keeps it open, and that is the single largest self-inflicted delay. Run your own comparison against [a regulated European crypto platform](https://collectnexchange.cy/) before accepting any quoted rate.

## The annual cost, in total

For a business that prepares properly: a few hours at onboarding and almost nothing thereafter.

For one that does not: a multi-day delay at an inconvenient moment, roughly once a year.
